From past to present
Let’s go back to where it all began.
1993
The very beginning.
We introduced FME to the world, marking the beginning of a 33-year journey (and counting) to solving complex data challenges.
1997
The first partner connection.
Every network starts somewhere. Ours started with Esri Sverige as one of our first Value-Added Resellers.
1997
Safe Software’s first international sale.
Sweden’s National Land Survey (NLS) adopted FME, and just like that, we were global.
1998
A (web)page right out of the 90s.
We launched our first website, featuring a bold logo, simple navigation, and an early look at FME, which was then known as the Universal Spatial Data Translator!
2006
The first FME conference.
Our first FME Conference brought together GIS users and spatial data professionals from 16 countries.
2014
The FME World Tour begins.
We hit the road for the first time, visiting over 45 cities and bringing the party to FME users everywhere.
2018
A new home for Safe Software.
We unveiled our new headquarters in Surrey, B.C.
2022
FME users reunite at #FMEUC22.
After a five-year pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were back in person at #FMEUC22 in Vancouver, B.C. Some things are just better together.
2023
New era, new look.
Out with the old, in with the new. We gave ourselves a fresh coat of paint, with new logos, new colours, and visual direction.
2024
A new chapter of growth.
We announced a strategic investment from JMI Equity, a nod to how far we’ve come, and fuel for what’s next.
Data is what we do. People are what make it fun.
At Safe Software, we’ve always believed that great technology is built by great people. So we built a team, a community, and a culture worth being proud of.
