The FME Exporter for Revit has been discontinued for 2019+ versions of FME and Revit.
To continue using Revit files in FME you can use Revit’s built-in IFC Exporter (File > Export > IFC) to export an IFC file. Once you have your file, use FME’s IFC with Data Views for Revit reader to open your file in FME. Learn more about this process by reading the Community Knowledge article.
You may also choose to use the beta native Autodesk Revit (.rvt) reader provided in FME 2019+. The native reader makes it easy to manage and integrate your BIM data directly within FME.
(psst… want to see what other new features FME has to offer? Check them out here.)
Don’t worry - the FME Exporter for Revit is still available for versions 2013-2018.
The FME Exporter for Revit is a free Add-In for Autodesk Revit (versions 2018 and earlier) that allows you to export Revit models as .rvz files. These .rvz files are an IFC export enriched with additional data that can be read in FME (versions 2018 and earlier) using the IFC with Data Views (FME Exporter for Revit) reader.
To use .ifc or .rvz files in FME you can use the IFC with Data Views reader. This method of using Revit files in FME is best suited for FME versions 2018 and earlier. To retrieve these files from Revit, the FME Exporter for Revit plug-in is required.
For versions 2019+, FME can natively read Revit (.rvt) files using the Autodesk Revit reader.
