Google Earth
When you need to convert your existing GIS data to KML (Keyhole Markup Language), FME can help. FME, the leading spatial ETL platform, allows you to read and write data from more than 200 supported formats to Google Earth KML. Read a technology brief. (PDF)
These screenshots show information obtained from a GeoRSS feed provided by the USGS. Each histogram represents the location of a recent earthquake, with magnitude indicated by the height of the histogram. The GeoRSS feed was transformed into a KML file in FME’s Workbench application, then visualized in Google Earth. (Click screenshots to enlarge) |

"Safe deserves a lot of credit for their KML support. I've used FME to generate KML files since Google Earth first appeared, and it's extremely easy with FME - even when working with rasters. Safe also makes it easy to keep up with this rapidly evolving format. New betas are posted on their website almost daily, and Safe's automated testing is so thorough that FME betas are typically as good as many companies' final releases".
