Inspect and Validate CAD and GIS Data
Key to successful CAD to GIS data conversion is verifying the quality of your source data so you can reduce manual cleanup. FME's Universal Viewer lets you visually inspect your data before, after, and even during the translation process. You can use it to quickly and easily check that data has been divided into the correct layers, that its feature geometry and symbology has been constructed correctly, and that the required attributes are present. Multiple source formats can be displayed simultaneously for more efficient inspection.
FME's translation log file provides a written/text-based report on each translation. The log file includes helpful information such as number of features read in for each layer, the number of features merged or rejected, and the number of features written out for each layer after processing.
