Safe Software Adds Support for More XML-based Spatial Formats

GITA Annual Conference 27 – Seattle, WA – April 27, 2004 - Safe Software Inc., the industry leader in spatial ETL technologies today announced that its flagship FME spatial data translator product now supports reading several new XML (eXtensible Markup Language)-based formats: Geodatabase XML for ArcGIS 9.0, Landonline (LandXML), GPX, and IUF.

"Embracing these new formats demonstrates Safe’s continued support of the standards community,” said Dale Lutz, Vice President, Product Development. “As an interoperability company, we are committed to supporting standard formats derived from XML. In addition to supporting many spatial formats derived from GML, we are excited to be implementing non-GML standards-based spatial formats as they emerge.”

Support for these formats will be demonstrated at GITA booth #326. Free evaluations are available for download from www.safe.com as part of the beta release of FME 2004 ICE.
