Sample Dataset

The FME sample datasets are required for use with the FME tutorials. They include a combination of data and sample workspaces to help you explore the full range of FME functionality.

  • FME Desktop 2013 Tutorial - select either "Tutorials Dataset" or "Full Dataset".
  • FME Server 2013 Tutorial - select either "Tutorials Dataset" or "Full Dataset".
  • FME Desktop 2013: Raster Tutorial - select the "Full Dataset".
  • FME Desktop 2012: KML Tutorial - select the "Full Dataset (2012)".
  • FME Desktop 2012: Spatial Database Tutorial - select the "Tutorials Dataset".

Current FME Sample Datasets:

Tutorials Dataset: includes all of the data required to complete the FME Desktop and Server tutorials.
Download the tutorials dataset (~99MB)

Full Dataset: includes all of the data from the tutorial dataset, as well as a wider range of formats and data types that you may find useful to experiment with. This dataset is required for advanced tutorials (i.e. Raster).
Download the full dataset (~170MB)

Full Dataset (2012): includes all of the data from the tutorial dataset, as well as a wider range of formats and data types that you may find useful to experiment with. This dataset is required for advanced tutorials (i.e. KML).
Download the full dataset (~360MB)

For best results, the files and folders within the zip file should be extracted to C:\ - giving C:\FMEData. (Choosing a different location than C:\ will not prevent you from using this tutorial, but predefined translations within the FMEData folder will require editing to locate the data.)

Note: Much of the data used here originates from public domain data made available by the City of Austin and Travis County, Texas, and data provided for public use from the EPA under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
