Some of the topics to be covered during the technical sessions include moving data between a CAD system and a GIS database; reading and writing data to spatial databases such as ESRI® ArcSDE™, Oracle®, PostGIS, and others ; loading rasters into Oracle Spatial and ArcSDE; and FME support for GML, the Simple Features Profile, and Web Feature Services (WFS). The conference agenda also includes presentations by companies in key market sectors, as well as a poster gallery and several innovative presentations that are designed to be entertaining as well as informative.

In addition to the main conference, optional pre-conference sessions offered on September 19-20 will provide participants an opportunity to add exceptional value to their conference experience by attending one of two additional events: a comprehensive two-day FME training course, or a half-day introductory seminar on SpatialDirect® - Safe Software’s FME-based solution for distributing spatial data in multiple formats via the Internet.

The conference agenda and registration information is available at www.safe.com/2006uc.

“Safe Software has been involved in many regional FME user conferences because we know that events like this are of tremendous value to attendees,” said Dale Lutz, VP of Product Development at Safe Software. “It’s exciting to now be bringing together FME users from around the world. We anticipate that many helpful international connections will be established as FME users learn from each other as well as from Safe Software staff and as we, in turn, learn from our users.”
