  • Training and consulting services represent 100% of total revenue
1994
  • FME product development begins
1995
  • FME development still underway
1996
  • First version of FME released
  • Revenue from FME sales grows to 10%
1997
  • FME 2.0 released
  • Revenue from FME sales surpasses consulting revenue for the very first time
1998
  • FME 2.1 and 2.2 released
  • Grandfather to SpatialDirect deployed at PanCanadian (MapWiz)
  • First server-based deployment of FME
1999
  • Preview of Workbench introduced in FME 2.3a
  • FME Objects debuts
  • SpatialDirect released
2000
  • FME 2000 released
  • Development begins on application extender
2001
  • FME 2002 released
  • First FME Objects OEM agreement signed
2002
  • Vision of Workbench realized with the release of FME 2003
  • FME Objects delivers the first FME-enabled applications
2003
  • FME 2003 X2 and FME 2004 released
  • Custom formats added
  • FME Objects grows to approximately 10% of total revenue
2004
  • FME 2004 and FME 2004 ICE released
  • Number of formats supported surpasses 150
  • Major OEM agreements signed with leading GIS vendors including:
    • Autodesk Map 2005 3D (first FME-enabled application)
    • ArcGIS 9.0 Data Interoperability Extension (second FME-enabled application, most extensive OEM agreement to date)
    • ArcIMS 9.0 Data Delivery Extension (licensing agreement for SpatialDirect technology)
2005
  • FME 2005 released
  • Arrival of compound transformers and bookmarks
  • Prototypes of FME Integration with ETL tools introduced
2006
  • FME 2006 and FME 2006GB released
  • FME extends support for key data formats with the addition of GML 3.1.1, GML SF Level 0 Profile, KML and EDIGEO
  • Other major enhancements include: Python scripting support, Rich Geometry Models, Custom Transformers, published parameters and shared directories
2007
  • FME 2007 released with over 1800 enhancements
  • FME now supports raster data
2008
  • FME 2008 released with new support for BIM and 3D data
  • New FME Server launched to give organizations a more efficient way to distribute spatial data and a scalable, services-oriented architecture for high volume spatial ETL processing
2009
  • FME 2009 released with 20% faster data conversion
2010
  • FME 2010 released with new innovations in data accessibility and usability enhancements that enable faster adoption
2011
  • FME 2011 released, adding support for point clouds as well as improvements that enable faster XML creation.
